Focusing on the Future

We started Waken with the simple idea that mouthcare products could be really effective, much more beautiful and also make thoughtful choices about their impact. Amazing results without the need to compromise.

Below you will find specific steps that we have taken to try to reduce the impact our products have. However, It's important for us to tell you that we aren't perfect and that this is an ongoing journey.

Our Recycled Aluminium Tube

Our recycled aluminium toothpaste tube is a more sustainable choice because it's made from 100% recycled materials.

It is estimated that recycling aluminium saves 95% of the energy needed to produce new aluminium.

Aluminium is also infinitely recyclable, meaning it can be recycled over and over again without losing its properties. By using recycled aluminium in our toothpaste tube, we reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and promote a circular economy.

We Use FSC Cardboard in Our Toothpaste Cartons

We use FSC certified sources for our cartons is better for the environment because it ensures that the materials used are sustainably sourced.

FSC also ensures All workers are provided with proper training, adequate safety protocols, and fair wages.

Local communities living in and around forest areas are consulted, and their legal and cultural rights to land and forest resources are respected.

Closing The Loop In Mouthwashes

We use 100% post-consumer recycled plastic to make our mouthwash bottles because it's a better choice for the environment than using virgin plastic bottles.

By repurposing existing plastic, we reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfills and oceans. This promotes a circular economy and reduces the need for new resources and energy to be used in production.

Rethinking Ingredients

Why is mouthwash a funny colour? What makes it blue? And why is toothpaste white? These are just some of the questions we asked when we started developing Waken. It turns out that there are no good answers to those questions.

We never use artificial colours in our mouthwashes and we don't use the unnecessary titanium dioxide colouring that's common in toothpaste. Our mouthwash is clear and you'll notice that our toothpaste is a slightly opaque gel.

In addition to this, we never use SLS in our toothpastes and none of our products contain parabens or artificial mint.
